Hi,

I hope you’re either prepping or having your evening drink!

April was an eventful month and we crossed 80+ subscribers, if you’ve not already subscribed to manifest wealth, do consider while your beverage brews ;D

Coming to my investment notes, here’s what I have in store for you this month:

  • Book I have read this month

  • An industry I’ve explored: Air Conditioners

  • Stock’s I’ve bought

As always, this is just to spark curiosity.

Before we begin, did you know NIFTY moves along with oil prices and not in the oppositive direction, contrary to conventional wisdom?

Find this and a lot more on our research on oil prices by clicking here

Let’s Begin:

Books I Have Read:

I started reading this amazing book called “Value Investing and Behavioral Finance” by Mr. Parag Parikh (Yes, the founder of PPFAS)

While I’ve only been able to read it halfway by now, it is filled with timeless lessons and wisdom which can help every investor. I totally recommend this classic.

Industry I Researched:

I looked into the air conditioners market this month, while there’s a lot more to the industry and the stocks in it, here are couple of stats that blew my mind.

AC Market Size:

Source: Statista

Market Penetration of ACs:

Source: Statista

AC Top Players in India

Source: Statista

What I take away from all this is:

  • ACs have low penetration as a consumer durable in India

  • There’s a lot of dominance by a few in the industry

  • This could be a space that’ll grow quite a bit as per capita income rises

What I look forward to seeing in the next month is to deep dive into the listed companies and their valuations to see if they are good picks.
